1.<\/span> <\/span>It is important that you not only<\/span> <\/span>describe<\/span> <\/span>experiences<\/span> but<\/span> <\/span>also<\/span> <\/span>show<\/span> <\/span>why<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>how<\/span> <\/span>they<\/span>
exe<\/span>mplify your style of learning. Be detailed and specific.<\/span> <\/span>Your paper should not read like<\/span>
a list; you want to<\/span> <\/span>develop<\/span> <\/span>your examples with relevant details.<\/span>
2.<\/span> <\/span>Do not attempt to write about too many styles<\/span>\/intelligences<\/span> <\/span>(no more than 3)<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>The point is<\/span>
to choose your dominant style(s) and describe them<\/span> <\/span>in depth<\/span>\u2014<\/span>not<\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>briefly touch on all<\/span>
of them.<\/span>
3.<\/span> <\/span>The format is relatively flexible, but all<\/span> <\/span>essay<\/span>s<\/span> <\/span>should have a<\/span> <\/span>main point<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>What do you<\/span>
want the reader to<\/span> <\/span>ta<\/span>ke away from this?<\/span>
4.<\/span> <\/span>Do not devote an inordinate amount of space to describing each<\/span> <\/span>kind of learner<\/span>. Focus<\/span> <\/span>on<\/span>
your<\/span> <\/span>own<\/span> <\/span>strengths and how they work for<\/span> <\/span>you.<\/span>
5.<\/span> <\/span>Before you write, take some time to explore the D2L links on multiple intelligences. You<\/span>
may want to take one of the learning preference tests (links in the \u201cEssays\u201d folder).<\/span>
Finally, p<\/span>lease note that the point<\/span> <\/span>of this assignment<\/span> <\/span>is to<\/span> <\/span>explore<\/span> <\/span>preferred<\/span> <\/span>ways of learning,<\/span>
thinking, and doing.<\/span> <\/span>Learning styles theory is contested<\/span>\u2014<\/span>there is little evidence that our<\/span>
preferences are innate, or that adapting teaching to students\u2019 styles improves<\/span> <\/span>learning.<\/span> <\/span>Our    goal<\/span> <\/font><\/span>is not to determine definitively what\/who you \u201care.\u201d Rather, w<\/span>e are using Gardner\u2019s<\/span> <\/span>theory<\/span> <\/span>as a<\/span> <\/span>vehicle for reflection<\/span>\u2014<\/span>that is,<\/span> <\/span>treating<\/span> <\/span>it<\/span> <\/span>more like a heuristic (look it up!) than an absolute<\/span>
algorithm.<\/span> <\/span>Before submitting, be sure<\/span> <\/span>to<\/span> <\/span>review the specific<\/span> <\/span>formatting<\/span> <\/span>guidelines<\/span> <\/span>and the MLA<\/span>
template<\/span> <\/span>in the \u201cEssays\u201d folde<\/span>r<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
