Students <\/span><\/span>must submit a research<\/span> <\/span><\/span>problem <\/span><\/span>statement<\/span> <\/span><\/span>that <\/span><\/span>begins to define the parameters of their semester-long literature review<\/span>.  <\/span>Your<\/span> <\/span>research problem statement should build on your personal research statement<\/span>.  <\/span>Where<\/span>as<\/span> <\/span>the personal research statement was situating your personal interests as they relate to research, this assignment situates your research interest within the broader context of the literature.<\/span> <\/span> Not surprisingly, this <\/span><\/span>step <\/span><\/span>requires you to be somewhat familiar with the literature on your specific topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span><\/span>th<\/span>e research problem <\/span><\/span>statement, you should <\/span><\/span>refer to the literature to begin to outline the scope of your project.<\/span> <\/span> Remember that the scope of you project must be narrow enough for you to adequately address the issue.  <\/span>If you are unsure then ask the instructor.  <\/span>A minimum of three credible sources must be utilized in this assignment.  <\/span>Items to address for this assignment include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/span><\/p>\n
