You are free to analyze each independently or craft your<br \/>\nanalysis from a compare and contrast perspective. You must use at least one, but no more than two recent major, federally<br \/>\ndeclared disasters (2018 or later) to reference in illustrating and supporting your analysis. You may not reuse the disaster on<br \/>\nwhich you based your Unit V Assignment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>At a minimum, you must address the following in your paper.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>1. Analyze the foundational elements of recovery and response.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>2. Evaluate the systems and plans in place for response and recovery utilizing locally sourced resources and plans.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;3. Address the integration of core capabilities identified in the National Response Framework and the National Disaster<br \/>\nRecovery Framework (NDRF) to assist in response and recovery.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>4. Determine the benefits of collaborative processes in response and recovery.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>5. Summarize the need to integrate the whole community in executing response or recovery activities.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>6. Suggest best practices to reach vulnerable populations.<br \/>\nIdentify other challenges and vulnerabilities that can significantly impact response and recovery.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>7. Which of the core capabilities identified in the NDRF do you believe are the most important to prioritize? Would this<br \/>\nchange depending on the type or location of the disaster?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>What challenges would a community face in recovery if they<br \/>\ndo not possess those priority capabilities?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>While you are free to develop your analysis as you wish, possible perspectives to consider implementing in your analysis<br \/>\nare:&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A. How does a community plan for recovery following a disaster?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>B. Why should the government sector work with the private sector, nonprofit organizations, and citizens to develop and<br \/>\nexecute the plan?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>C. What budget expenditures in planning activities support the core capabilities in the recovery?&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You must demonstrate your own critical thinking by analyzing response and recovery as functional activities in the<br \/>\nemergency management cycle. You are not analyzing the two disasters you have chosen, but merely using them as<br \/>\nexamples to illustrate or support your analysis.<br \/>\n<i>Your paper must be a minimum of three, but no more than four pages. You must use at least three resources other than the<br \/>\ncourse eTextbook to support your analysis.<\/i> One resource must come from the CSU Online Library. Other resources may<br \/>\nbe a community or state emergency operations plan, government agency products or other resources that are reputable<br \/>\nand of scholarly value. Wikis, blogs, and other opinion-based sources may not be used.<br \/>\nAll sources used must have APA-formatted citations and references.
