(5) The organization’s history: When\/how did it became an organization, any big changes over time, its mission statement, values, & current goal(s)?  
(6) Why you selected this organization & how you gained access
(7) Contact(s): name, title, and contact information (phone and\/or email) & date he\/she\/they provided approval<\/div>\n

Organization

Goal:<\/span><\/b> In
\nthis section of the assignment, you will do some research to gain insight about
\nthe organization you are working with this semester. The ultimate assignment
\ngoal is to determine where the organization could use improvement and what
\nskills, if trained, would improve these areas. In order to get to this point,
\nyou must first understand what makes the organization unique. You need to grasp
\nfactors such as why this organization exists, what it values, and what it wants
\nto accomplish.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Instructions<\/span><\/u><\/b>:<\/span><\/u> Address
\nthe following aspects pertaining to your organization.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1.     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What is the name of the organization? What specific
\nbusiness or service(s) does this organization provide?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Where is this organization located? Are there multiple
\nlocations?  Do you plan to focus on a specific branch or location? If so,
\nhow does this location fit into the organizational structure?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3.     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What is the size of the organization? How many members are
\nthere overall? If focusing on a specific branch\/location how many members are
\nat that branch\/location?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>What is the organization’s history? When\/how did it became
\nan organization? Has it endured any big changes over time? What is its mission
\nstatement? What does it value? What is its current goal(s)?  (Do not<\/b> cut
\nand paste the history from the organization\u2019s website. Provide your own
\nsummary. The mission statement can be verbatim. If verbatim, cite where you
\nobtained that information.)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Why did you select this organization? How did you gain
\naccess?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

7.     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Provide the name, title, and contact information (phone
\nand\/or email) for the organizational member who agreed to work with you.
\nProvide the date he\/she\/they provided approval. *You need two contacts
\nif you work for this organization<\/b>. If you listed more than one contact,
\nnote who will be your primary contact.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nrecognize that most but not every company has a website, vision, mission, etc. <\/b>If
\nyou are unable to obtain that information, make a note at the bottom of this

Preliminary
\nInterview<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

Goal:<\/span><\/b> In
\nthis section you want to gain insight about employee tasks, operational
\nprocesses, and\/or organizational culture that might need training. You will
\nconduct an interview with your contact to determine the organization’s
\nstrengths (i.e. where it is doing well) and weaknesses (i.e. where it can
\nimprove). This will allow you to better assess the organization’s skill
\nneeds. This information will also give you insight on what questions to
\nask employees in your future Questions & Rationales discussion board and
\nParticipant Survey assignment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Instructions:<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

Prior to your interview<\/span><\/b>,
\nbrainstorm potential questions to discuss with your contact so you are
\nprepared. Keep in mind the goal of the interview. You want to leave this
\ninterview with a clear idea of where the organization is doing well, where it
\ncould improve, and some ideas on what skills could be trained to employees to
\naid in improving these areas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\nare no specific questions or number of questions for you to ask. Consider
\nstarting off with easier, more positive questions, and then moving on to more
\ndifficult questions. Here are some <\/span>potential
