Socializing agents include: the family, the school, the peer group, media\/technology, commercial advertising, and violence. <\/p>\n

The family is the first and major socializing agent and as such has responsibility for early socialization patterns.<\/p>\n

These agents can be related to bias depending on the family the child is in. Schools are important socializing agents, and teachers have a responsibility to recognize bias in their teaching. The peer group grows in importance as socializing agents as the child matures. <\/p>\n

Other socializing agents include media influences on children. There is a plea for professionals who work with parents to become aware of and monitor media use. <\/p>\n

Write a 2-page essay discussing what contributed to your socialization. What was an important socializing agent in your life? Was there a particular person who was more important than the others to your process of becoming a social being? What stands out in your mind about your socialization?<\/p>\n

The essay must be 2-3 pages in length, 7-8 paragraphs, 3-5 sentences per paragraph, written in APA format, include a minimum of at least one scholarly or news article to support the assignment information being discussed, and provide a reference page.<\/p>\n
