Please make sure I approve your term paper topics to avoid confusion.<\/u><\/strong>  Your papers cannot be about individual psychotherapy or psychopathology (mental disorders).  You should be writing papers related to the Psychology of Violence and Terror.  Think of violence and terror at the group level, not the individual level, as the major focus of your papers.  Simply doing a book report of a course textbook or another book is not this assignment and will result in a zero.<\/strong>  <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Case Study Paper<\/strong> <\/span>should develop your baseline of knowledge and understanding about the social, psychological, and cultural forces that promote violence among people and the consequences of violence and terror.  The Case Study is a specific and direct application of the knowledge gained through this course in relation to a major crisis of violence or terror.  This application should describe, identify, classify, and evaluate the conditions of the violence or terrorist act, the events leading to the event, including reliable claims to knowledge of history of causes, and reliable claims to understanding of consequences and implications leading from the violence or terrorist act.  The events that you identify leading to and from the act should be detailed and organized to account for a clear, specific, believable, and reliable explanation and analysis of why the act happened. <\/p>\n

You will need to commit to identifying the physical, social, psychological causes of the event, and providing a reasonable analysis of the causes of the Violence or Terror. The logic of your claims should be supported by descriptive and analytic empirical evidence, such as that found in course materials, primary sources, and professional journal articles.<\/p>\n

The Levin Library can help you in online searches of pertinent, reliable information.  A good rule of thumb is to refer to at least 3 sources of professional journal information to help you find enough supportive data to develop your explanations.  Again, your purpose is not to paraphrase findings from professional sources, but to select, elaborate, and apply the findings that you understand. These findings should present substantial explanations of causes of violence and terror that in turn are sufficient starting points for you to explain your topic of analysis yourself rather than to rely on the work of others to allow you to overgeneralize about the topic.  In other words, your paper must show your own work as a result of a foundation that you construct from taking this course.  Please include a title page with your name and an APA-formatted reference page.  The paper should be in A<\/strong>PA format<\/strong> <\/span>5-6 pgs long<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
