\nintroduce yourself to the rest of the class. Who are you? How would
\nyou define yourself? Who are the people and places that are most
\nimportant to you? What do you love to do when you are not at the
\nuniversity, studying and preparing for your bright future? What are
\nyour future goals and aspirations?
\nAlong with that introduction, I would also like you to reflect on the
\ncourse syllabus for SOC 232 and this week’s power point lecture.
\nGiven this overview to the course and, given the things that you will be
\nlearning in SOC 232, start to discuss and explore how these skills will
\nbe useful to you in your future career or graduate work.

\n\u2022 Are you studying to do sociology?
\n\u2022 Do you plan to work in the field of public health?
\n\u2022 Or, are you planning to work in the field of epidemiology?

\nWhatever field you are currently studying and plan to work in the
\nfuture, start to think about how the skills of data analysis and scientific
\nreport writing will be useful to you (and your community) as you move
\nforward. How might learning the scientific method and scientific report
\nwriting help you in the future to answer or address important scientific
\nquestions within the broader fields of social science, medical research
\nand\/or public health? If you are stumped, feel free to ask one of your
\nprofessors on how these skills will be useful to you in your chosen
\nfield!
\nUse (and underline) the following concepts and terms when
\ndeveloping your blog post: Research questions, the scientific method,
\nsurvey research, data analysis and report-writing. These terms will
\nconstitute your “five concepts or terms” when writing this week’s blog.
\nRemember, in future posts, you will always be required to apply five
\nconcepts and terms from the lecture material when writing your blogs.
