Leadership
\n is about networking and expanding one\u2019s sphere of influence. In today\u2019s
\n modern era, competent leaders integrate a variety of social media, such as
\n blogs, apps, the Internet, Twitter, and so forth to create a bond with
\n customers, suppliers, and employees at every level of the organization. To
\n build respect and trust, it is critical that leaders capture the power of
\n social media for generating a collaborative work culture where followers can
\n thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n

For
\n this assignment, select a company that you are familiar with either through
\n your direct interactions or via research. After conducting research on the
\n company and gaining an in-depth understanding of its internal systems and
\n external dynamics, design a \u201cgenerative context\u201d within which social
\n media would be utilized as the primary medium (i.e., a channel or system of
\n communication) in an attempt to cultivate and enhance employees\u2019 innovative
\n capabilities through goal-oriented interactions with customers and the
\n general public<\/b>. Keep in mind that the value of generative contexts is in
\n their ability to \u201corganically\u201d facilitate the emergence and formation of
\n ideal collective behaviors through guiding individuals\u2019 interactions in the
\n absence of a top-down structure (i.e., once a group is exposed to the generative
\n context, the majority of the members will automatically engage in the
\n behavior of interest). Your proposed generative context should create a
\n co-evolving relationship between the employees and the firm\u2019s external
\n stakeholders; employees should be able to consistently enhance their
\n innovative capabilities (to improve products\/services) while the
\n customers\/public develop a positive perception and trust towards the company
\n through their interactions with organizational members. If designed well, the
\n generative context can also enhance leader-member relationships and trust by
\n revealing the leader\u2019s genuine care for employees\u2019 well-being and future.
\n Present your design for the generative context using the following outline:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Background:<\/span><\/b> Provide a brief background
    \n about the selected company.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Research Findings:<\/span><\/b> Share your research
    \n findings regarding the firm\u2019s internal and external systems and dynamics
    \n relevant to this assignment.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Explain and Justify the
    \n Generative Context:<\/span><\/b> Provide a detailed description of your proposed
    \n generative context. Analyze and justify how your generative context can
    \n form and guide the ideal collective behaviors, and fulfill the
    \n objectives described above (for both the employees and the
    \n customers\/public). Specify the type of social media and offer relevant
    \n examples to shed light on some potential outcomes of your design. This
    \n case is focused on innovation and leader-member relations; therefore,
    \n you are highly encouraged to apply relevant concepts and practices
    \n discussed in class related to creativity, problem-solving,
    \n idea-generating, trust, and designing others\u2019 success. In addition,
    \n review the \u201cGenerative Glance\u201d in Module 7.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Propose a General Plan of
    \n Action:<\/span><\/b> Informed
    \n by the company\u2019s internal systems, propose a general plan for implementing
    \n your proposed generative context.   <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This
    \n case analysis will be 5-7 pages (excluding cover page and reference page);
    \n APA writing conventions should be followed with a minimum of six (6) sources
    \n referenced and cited.<\/span><\/p>\n
