For this assignment, you will explore the management strategies of one acute illness of a patient in the emergency department (ED), and non-critical inpatient units.   • Discuss common signs\/symptoms and consider unique presentations of this condition.<\/li>\n
  • Discuss how this condition is ultimately diagnosed.<\/li>\n
  • Discuss how the patient will be managed in the emergency department or non-critical inpatient unit (Consider initial lab tests, medications, imaging, etc).<\/li>\n
  • Discuss criteria for admission or discharge from the emergency department or non-critical inpatient unit<\/li>\n
  • Discuss how this condition is managed in the inpatient (noncritical) setting (Include medications, diagnostics, consultation(s), and education, etc).<\/li>\n
  • Discuss criteria for considering admission to the intensive care unit.<\/li>\n
  • Discuss management strategies for intensive monitoring of this condition.<\/li>\n
  • Finally discuss discharge planning for this scenario and consider when the patient is stable enough to be discharged home, to a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation, or other outpatient center.<\/li>\n
  • Your Paper should include a minimum of three peer-reviewed references from scholarly articles no more than 5 years old.<\/li>\n
