Students will develop a written manual that provides all the information needed to
\nimplement your career program with your specific population. The manual should include a description
\nof the career- and work-related issues of the target population (citing relevant research and literature),
\nof the format of the program (i.e., individual, group, number of interventions\/session, etc.), the
\ntheoretical underpinnings of the program and the goals of the intervention (which should be consistent
\nwith the theory; for example, if you are using SCCT the goals will most likely involve more accurate self
\nefficacy and outcome expectations), expected outcomes of the program for the individuals involved,
\nand a description of the activities involved. There is no specific page minimum or limit, as each
\nprogram will be unique; however, a manual less than 10 pages would not likely contain enough detail
\nto help another practitioner implement your program.
\nThe manual will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
\nComprehensive description of the career needs\/issues for your population, (including citations for at
\nleast 5 articles\/chapters), and with an understanding of the larger contextual issues influencing the
\nlives of your population;
\nExtent to which the chosen theory(ies) address(es) the major issues of the population and the degree
\nof consistency between the theory of choice and your goals. You should have at least one citation for
\nthe theory used;
\nAppropriateness of the goals and outcomes chosen for the program given the specific characteristics
\nof your population, their needs\/issues and contextual factors, and the choice of most appropriate
\ntheory;
\nFeasibility of the program (could another practitioner implement your program, assuming they had
\nall the resources?); and
\nOrganization, clarity of presentation and ideas, creativity, grammar, and APA style. <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
