    Additionally, all discussants will offer their <\/span><\/span>overall <\/span><\/span>assessment of the scholarship by discussing the article\u2019s<\/span><\/p>\n

     strengths and weaknesses. In your assessment, consider one or more of the following: Does the author(s) make an important contribution to the literature? Is the main theoretical argument persuasive (versus alternative <\/span><\/p>\n

    arguments)? What are the strengths and weakness of the research strategy and data used to address the <\/span><\/p>\n

    research question? Do the author\u2019s conclusions support the findings? I will randomly assign the weekly readings on the first day of class. <\/span><\/span>Each discussant will individually submit a 1-2 page outline of their main talking <\/span><\/p>\n

    points, including their individual summaries (based on role) and overall assessment. <\/span><\/p>\n
