1. Describe workplace health, safety and wellness practices within the Canadian legal environment. <\/span><\/p>\n

2. Describe employer and employee obligations for the provision of a safe workplace. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. Evaluate the appropriateness of different health and safety initiatives in light of current research and trends in the field.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Design and\/or critique workplace health, safety or wellness policies or interventions which address employee and organizational needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Note there are two questions to be answered.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    As a recreational facility employee:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      \n
    1. \n

      Clearly identify your current role (as a front desk person) and the kind of organization you work for (Recreation Facility; with a fitness area, gymnasium, aquatics (pool and tub), etc.)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Identify 5 workplace hazards, one of each type (physical, chemical, biological) and two psycho-social. Explain them clearly.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      For each hazard, assess the risk. (high, medium or low)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      For each hazard, propose a mitigation strategy. Describe it in detail.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      For each hazard, state whether training would be a useful strategy.  If so, what is the topic of the training and who is to be trained?  If not, why not?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    6. \n

      Based on the internal responsibility system, what is one change you will make in your own behaviour concerning OHS? Why make this change?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
