Students are expected to write a research paper which contributes to the anthropological take on climate change. Anybody reading the essay should be able to grasp the topic as well as the class material being discussed. The connection of the topic to the class material must also be clearly presented. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Try to cover these questions in the essay: <\/span><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

a.      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Explain the topic in detail. How does the topic relate to climate change? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

b.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Why is it important to study this topic? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

c.      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>How does your topic relate to the broad theme of an \u2018uncertain future\u2019? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

d.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>How does your research on the topic provide a way to think about uncertainty (a bleak future)? <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

e.      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>What stance are you taking on the topic? (What are you arguing for?) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The basics of an essay should include<\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

a.      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>An argument or stance using data and theory<\/span><\/p>\n

b.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Material\/ for the essay need to fulfil the following criteria: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                                                                 <\/span><\/span>i.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span>At least 3 academic sources must be identified out of the class material. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                                                                <\/span><\/span>ii.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>At least 3 sources from the class material should be used <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

                                                               <\/span><\/span>iii.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>At least 3 non-academic sources should also be identified (policy reports, creative work, newspaper article, blog posts) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3.     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The essay should not be longer than 2000 words. <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n
