As a group, you must<\/span> <\/span>select an activity that promotes mental health and wellbeing and prevents<\/span>
workplace burnout. You then need to facilitate this activity<\/span> <\/span>in your Week 10 seminar.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
You may ch<\/span>oose<\/span> <\/span>any<\/span> <\/span>activity<\/span>. T<\/span>he<\/span> <\/span>activity must be evidence based<\/span> <\/span>to promote mental health and<\/span>
wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>and prevent\/address burnout<\/span>. You<\/span> <\/span>may<\/span> <\/span>choose an activity from the<\/span> <\/span>suggested<\/span> <\/span>list below<\/span>,<\/span>
but y<\/span>ou are also welcome to select an activity that is not on th<\/span>is<\/span> <\/span>list.<\/span> <\/span>You are encouraged to<\/span> <\/span>be<\/span>
creative, as long as the activity is evidence based.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Exercise\/<\/span>physical<\/span> <\/span>activity<\/span><\/span>

Step 1.<\/span> <\/span>T<\/span>he first seven<\/span> <\/span>minutes of your activity need to be a presentation about the activity.<\/span> <\/span>The<\/span>
points you need to address<\/span> <\/span>about your activity include:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
1.<\/span> <\/span>Discuss<\/span> <\/span>how this<\/span> <\/span>activity promote<\/span>s<\/span> <\/span>mental health and wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>for nurses and\/or midwives<\/span>
and prevents\/addresses workplace burnout<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
2.<\/span> <\/span>Evaluate<\/span> <\/span>the effectiveness of this activity<\/span> <\/span>in promoting mental health and wellbeing for<\/span>
nurses and\/or midwives<\/span> <\/span>and prevents\/addresses work<\/span>place burnout<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>An evaluation involves considering the positive and negative aspects of the<\/span>
activity and coming up with an informed judgement about the activity.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
3.<\/span> <\/span>Using the Rolfe, Jasper and Freshwater Reflection Framework (2001), as a group,<\/span> <\/span>reflect<\/span>
upon what you learnt about the activity and its role in promoting mental health and<\/span>
wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>and in preventing\/addressing workplace burnout<\/span>. This must be a group refle<\/span>ction,<\/span>
but this section can be presented by one presenter. The questions to answer when using the<\/span>
Rolfe, Freshwater and Jasper Reflection Framework<\/span> <\/span>(2001)<\/span> <\/span>include:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
a.<\/span> <\/span>What did the group learn about the activity?<\/span><\/span>
b.<\/span> <\/span>So what impact will implementing this activity<\/span> <\/span>have on group members\u2019 mental<\/span>
health and wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>and risk of workplace burnout<\/span>?<\/span><\/span>
c.<\/span> <\/span>Now what can the group members do to incorporate the activity as a tool for<\/span>
promoting<\/span> <\/span>their<\/span> <\/span>mental health and wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>and preventing the risk of workplace<\/span>
burnout<\/span>?<\/span><\/span><\/span>
NOTE:<\/span> <\/span>The first two points must be evidence based<\/span> <\/span>and supported with literature<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Step 2.<\/span> <\/span>In the final five minutes of your<\/span> <\/span>presentation,<\/span> <\/span>you need to run the mental health promotion<\/span>
activity you have selected.<\/span> <\/span>Please make sure to bring any equipment\/resources<\/span> <\/span>that you need for<\/span>
this part of your presentation.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Group charter<\/span><\/span><\/span>
There is a group charter on the HNN301 cloud site in the AT2 folder. You need to download this<\/span>
charter, write group rules on the document, sign the document and upload it into the AT2<\/span> <\/span>dropbox<\/span>
before your presentation<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Audience expectations<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Whilst a necessary skill to possess, we understand that presenting to an audience can be anxiety<\/span>–<\/span>
provoking for<\/span> <\/span>some<\/span> <\/span>people.<\/span> <\/span>Promoting colleagues<\/span>\u2019<\/span> <\/span>mental health and wellbeing<\/span> <\/span>includes<\/span> <\/span>creating a<\/span>
support<\/span>ive<\/span>, non<\/span>–<\/span>judgmental and safe environment.<\/span> <\/span>This includes<\/span> <\/span>being a respectful, encouraging and<\/span>
supportive audience member for your colleagues.<\/span> <\/span>Therefore, as part of the audience, you are<\/span>
expected to conduct yourself in a respectful and professional manner. This means actively listening<\/span>
and, where appropriate, par<\/span>ticipating in the activities<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
References<\/span><\/span><\/span>
You need to include literature to support your discussion of the<\/span> <\/span>mental<\/span>
health promotion activity.<\/span> <\/span>References need to be no older than ten years<\/span>
unless they are seminal work.<\/span> <\/span>Government websites are appropriate in<\/span>
addition to resources listed in your reading list. However, references to .com<\/span>
websites and<\/span>\/or Wikipedia are in<\/span>appropriate for this assessmen<\/span>t task.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
Presentation<\/span> <\/span>and submission<\/span> <\/span>requirements:<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>You must<\/span> <\/span>prepare a Power Point presentation for the first seven minutes of your<\/span>
presentation. This is expected when providing education.<\/span> <\/span>You need to bring your Power<\/span>
Point presentation on a USB<\/span> <\/span>stick<\/span> <\/span>to your seminar so you can use the seminar room<\/span>
computer.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Depending on<\/span> <\/span>your group<\/span>\u2019<\/span>s activity<\/span>, it may or may not be appropriate to use a Power Point<\/span>
presentation when running<\/span> <\/span>the<\/span> <\/span>activity<\/span> <\/span>compo<\/span>nent of your presentation<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Each group member must present for roughly three minutes each.<\/span><\/span>
\u2022<\/span> <\/span>You do not need to include an introduction or conclusion, but you are expected to introduce<\/span>
the activity you are going to discuss and run, and to appropriately clos<\/span>e your<\/span>
activity\/presentation.<\/span><\/span>
