Create a more comprehensive version of Assignment #1 that you had done for me (the Word document is attached)
In Assignment #1, you applied your learnings from chapters 2, 3 and 4 of the textbook: Community Psychology; Foundations for Practice, 2015, by Victoria C. Scott & Susan
M. Wolfe., Published by Sage. Please use the same scenario again, except this time, you will apply your learning from chapters 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9 of the textbook and (10(the chapter 10 document needed is attached)). Some aspects of your approach may be similar or very different from the
plan you wrote the first time. That is up to you based on what you think the best
approach is now that you’ve learned more from the course. You can reuse pieces of
assignment 1 or not, but if you do, remember that you now have a lot more content to
build in, which may not fit well with what you previously wrote, or which may end up
being too long without rewriting and condensing those earlier pieces. You may find that you will do a better job if you use your previous assignment to review but write this assignment from scratch. What you cannot do is mention or make reference to your earlier assignment 1 (attached doc). For example, you can’t write things like “as I described in assignment 1, _____ is important, so I won’t describe it again here”. When this current assignment is read, the previous assignment 1 does not exist. This
assignment is a stand-alone comprehensive plan that the Mayor and Town Council will
be reading, not a second part to attach to an earlier one. In case it’s not clear, this is a
task that requires you to be a critic of your previous work, because now you know more
about how to work with communities and are able to make a more effective plan.

2. Consider this scenario.

A small rural community asks you to help them with a problem. This is a remote
community of only 1500 people, and it is four hours away from the nearest town. The families who live there have been there for generations, so they have all lived there for their whole lives, and many have never been outside of the community at all. In terms of
services, they have only the basics of a small combination food store, gas station, and
restaurant, as well as a couple of other very small businesses. They have one school, with
three teachers, that serves the 75 kids from grades primary to 12. The community has no high-speed internet access, no cell phone service (only regular wired landlines in
most houses), no recreation facilities, and the only health service they have is a clinic
with one Nurse. In the last year, they have seen 8 overdose deaths among their young people from either alcohol or sniffing gas, or both combined. In 5 of those cases, there was evidence that it was suicide, and for the others, it appeared unintentional.

3. Write a paper that tells me how you, as the contracted community psychologist, would proceed to help the community with this situation, in terms of an approach and a plan. For example, in your plan, what would be your most important considerations in terms of what you can and can’t do? What kinds of skills and abilities would be most essential to apply? What kinds of solutions or approaches might your plan include? With
everything you write, try your best to give me a sense of why, because I need to see
what you would do, but I also need to understand something about your reasons for it.
Also, remember that Community Psychology is not just about what should be done to address a community problem but is heavily focused on how. Finally, this is not an opinion paper. It must be based on the learning from the course. It is completely about you applying that information to the situation as if you are a community psychologist.

4. This should not be written like a scientific paper (i.e., no APA format). It should be
written in more of a narrative format because it’s not a research paper. It is a desсrіption of a plan to deal with a non-academic, real-life situation, and what should or shouldn’t be said and done in this situation. So, start with what are the main questions you need to figure out, and what is all the course content that applies. Get organized before you write, so it flows and makes sense when you do the writing.

5. Maximum 3 to 4 pages (not 2.5 pages)
f. Do not include any references, footnotes, or bibliography. You will be using your knowledge from the textbook chapters to write a better paper so there is no need for citations.
g.
