The Consensus Model<br \/>\nfor APRN Regulation, Licensure, Accreditation, Certification and<br \/>\nEducation separated the APRNs into four distinct roles: certified nurse<br \/>\npractitioners (CNPs), clinical nurse specialists (CNSs), certified<br \/>\nregistered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), and certified nurse midwives<br \/>\n(CNMs), and in at least one of six population foci: family\/individual<br \/>\nacross the lifespan, adult-gerontology, neonatal, pediatrics, women\u2019s<br \/>\nhealth\/gender-related, or psychiatric\/mental health (<a style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Consensus Model<\/a>).<br \/>\n However, the nurse leader and the nurse educator are missing from the<br \/>\nfour identified roles.
