\nwill have the opportunity to complete a critique of a recent\/current news
\nrelease related to the older adult, rural, or remote population. This activity provides an
\nopportunity for students to demonstrate understanding of course related
\nconcepts<\/span> through an evaluation of the content included in the news
\nrelease and supports critical writing in a succinct manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/span>Expectations: <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Students will be expected to
\nread a current news release and provide a critical review of the information,
\nwhich includes questioning the information provided and understanding the topic
\nfrom a different perspective.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>Critique will be 2-3 pages<\/span><\/b>, written with an academic tone<\/span><\/b>, in 3<\/span><\/span>rd <\/span>person<\/span>, and meet APA (7<\/span>th <\/span>ed.)
\nstandards. Title page and
\nreference list are not included in the page count.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\nbeyond the maximum 3 pages will not be included in the evaluation of the
\nassignment<\/span><\/i>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\nbe supported by a minimum
\n<\/b>of 8 relevant and recent (last five years) references from peer-reviewed
\njournals. Strive to use Canadian references within the last 5 years. Other
\nreferences, such as scholarly websites and government documents\/reports, may
\nalso be used over and above the required journal references to supplement your
\nwork.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Critique will be marked according to the Critique
\nRubric.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
