It’s really just a basic essay answering the question, using a couple different resources with APA style citation.  <\/span><\/span>Here’s what the handbook suggests regarding writing assignments:<\/span><\/p>\n

Identify the question you are answering and write the question itself (in bold type)<\/span><\/p>\n

All responses must be typed double-spaced, using a standard font and 12 point type size for ease of reading and grading.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outline your answer to help organize your thoughts and provide a framework for your essay response.<\/span><\/p>\n

Use a standard essay response to all questions (i.e. four to five paragraphs with three to five sentences per paragraph, including an introduction, middle paragraphs, and conclusion).<\/span><\/p>\n

The majority of your response should be your own original writing, based primarily on the textbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

  <\/span><\/span>Whenever you use outside material, be sure to provide a reference for the material. California Coast University requires students to use the American Psychological Association (APA) style of citing references. You may access additional information on this style via the Internet and on the California Coast University website.<\/span><\/p>\n

  <\/span><\/span>References are listed in two places. The first reference is briefly listed within your answer.<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, if you were using information found in a journal article by Smith (2011), you might include it within your writing as “Smith (2011) found that …” You would then continue with whatever point you were making from Smith’s writing. This directs the reader to look at your list of references for more information on Smith’s specific work.<\/span><\/p>\n

  <\/span><\/span>Another example would be to list in parentheses, (Smith, 2011) at the end of the sentence or paragraph that contains information you used from the article by Smith.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second place you must list the complete reference is at the end of your work in a List of References.<\/span><\/p>\n

  <\/span><\/span>All references cited should provide enough information so that the reader can access the original material.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are referencing a textbook, published article, or web site, provide the author(s) name, the title of the article\/information, along with the location, place, and date of publication or posting.<\/span><\/p>\n

For information found on the Internet, be sure to include the web site address and the specific web page within the site.<\/span><\/p>\n

  <\/span><\/span>If you are using a direct quotation from a textbook, article, or web site, you must also provide the specific page number or web page where you found the information<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
