Scenarios can be of three major categories: (1)<br \/>\nexploratory, starting from past trends leading to a likely future; (2)<br \/>\nanticipatory or plausible built on different definitions of the future,<br \/>\ndesired or feared (the Oxford method); and (3) probabilistic stance<br \/>\n(best case\/worst case) (Godet &amp; Roubelat, 1996; Ramirez et al.<br \/>\n(2017).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">The matrix is a synthesis, not a summary. A synthesis requires<br \/>\ndifferent main points or arguments presented by the authors from each of<br \/>\n the scenario articles on their respective scenario frameworks. Complete<br \/>\n the following steps:<\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/p>\n<ol style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">\n<li style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Evaluate and identify the main points of each article.<\/li>\n<li style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Populate the first column of the synthesis matrix with the main points.<\/li>\n<li style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Work down the column from article to article. How does each<br \/>\narticle relate to the main points identified? Note: some articles may<br \/>\nnot cover all of the main ideas listed. Leave the field blank if the<br \/>\narticle does not address that main point.<\/li>\n<li style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Complete the final column: your synthesis.<\/li>\n<li style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Provide an introduction to the matrix and the process steps you<br \/>\nfollowed.
