The
\npaper should be written in essay form with an introductory paragraph and a
\nconclusion. The body of the paper should be in essay form and should
\nincorporate the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>A short summary of the book and why this study falls under the
\nrealm of anthropology. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>A short discussion of the research method I used to conduct the
\nstudy and how that is related to anthropology.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>The obstacles I encountered in conducting this research<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Your own stereotypes that you had about street kids before reading
\nthe book.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Why this group is considered a \u201csubculture.\u201d If you don\u2019t think
\nthey are, then why not?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>The insights you gained from this book in understanding street kid
\nculture.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Why you think this particular group exists in society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since
\nI am the one that wrote the book, I am not asking you to critique it or review
\nit in any way. I don\u2019t want to put anyone on the spot. I basically want to know
\nwhat you learned from it. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Also,
\nplease make sure that you write this paper in a proper narrative form. I don\u2019t
\nwant you to use the above points as a question and answer type format. It
\nshould all flow together. You don\u2019t need to include the above points in any
\nparticular order; you should just try to incorporate them where they best fit
\nin with the flow of your paper. Also, it is very important that you back up
\nyour thoughts with lots of examples from the book. If you are discussing why
\nthis group is considered a subculture, you wouldn\u2019t just say because they fit
\nthe definition of a subculture. You should give examples from the book where
\nthey are demonstrating subcultural behavior, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

*          <\/span>Paper should be 5-7 double spaced
\npages<\/span><\/p>\n

*          <\/span>1-inch margin all around<\/span><\/p>\n

*
\n         <\/span>I prefer 12 point Times New Roman
\nfont.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

*          <\/span>Pages should be numbered<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Make
\nsure to reference any direct quotes and to include a reference list at the end
\nof the paper.  <\/span>You do not really need to
\nuse any other references than this book and perhaps the Kottak book to help you
\nsupport some of your thoughts or help you with anthropological theories or definitions.
\nIf you want to cite other articles or books, that is fine, but the bulk of the
\npaper should come from the two books we are using in class.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
