Please put the name of your quake in the title to your thread. Then, post the following information about the quake:<\/p>\n

Title your Post with the Name of the Earthquake and the Magnitude. Then write a short narrative about the quake to include the following <\/strong>information<\/strong>: <\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Where was the epicenter located? – you can describe this geographically and include an image showing the epicenter on a map (see #8).  <\/p>\n

2. How deep did the actual earthquake occur? (what was the depth to the focus or hypocenter of the earthquake?)<\/p>\n

3. What was the magnitude of the earthquake on the Richter Scale?<\/p>\n

4. Why did this earthquake occur? (was this earthquake associated with a plate boundary, and if so, what type of plate boundary? If not, what is the likely cause of the earthquake?)<\/p>\n

5. What type of stresses (tensional, compressional, or shear) were associated with the rupture that caused this quake?<\/p>\n

6. Are earthquakes common to this area? Take a look at the history of this general area further back in time to see if quakes are common or not. <\/p>\n

7. What was the extent of the damages and loss of life as a result of the earthquake?<\/p>\n

8. Include whatever other detail that will create a solid summary of the quake.<\/p>\n

9. Insert an image or map to show the geographic epicenter of the earthquake and also a photo or two of the resulting damage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
