  1. Write a 10-12 paper (excluding cover and reference page). Include the body of the paper with the following titled sections:\n
      \n
    • Abstract<\/li>\n
    • Title (introduction) with purpose<\/li>\n
    • Background<\/li>\n
    • Methods<\/li>\n
    • Literature Review of the proposed change<\/li>\n
    • Discussion (what was learned)<\/li>\n
    • Proposed change implementation <\/li>\n
    • Proposed methods to measure outcomes of the change<\/li>\n
    • Recommendations for Practice change.<\/li>\n
    • Conclusion and implications for nursing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • Identifies the significant clinical problem and the intervention that will resolve the problem.<\/li>\n
    • Describe the problem (PICO the question and write as a statement),
      \nincluding the purpose and goal of the EBP review (EBP proposal paper).
      \nStart with a global description of the importance of nursing and narrow
      \nyour topic to the organizational level. Finalize these paragraphs with
      \nthe purpose of the paper. What are you trying to achieve?<\/li>\n
    • Explain the Background of your problem, the definition of the
      \nvariables. Include any pertinent background and history pertaining to
      \nyour problem or topic of interest and what has led you to believe this
      \nproblem is of great significance to the nursing profession. The aim of
      \nthis section is to help the reader understand the concepts and
      \ndefinitions of your topic of study.<\/li>\n
    • Identify your source and method for searching the evidence
      \n(keywords, databases, inclusion, exclusion criteria). Find the highest
      \nlevel of evidence first and then proceed methodically through the
      \nhierarchy of evidence to answer the focused question. Remember \u201cNot all
      \nevidence is created equal.\u201d That is, we can have more confidence in some
      \n types of evidence than in others. Just because the evidence you have
      \nmaybe a study or a clinical guideline published by an organization does
      \nnot mean that it is the best evidence (i.e., the most objective or the
      \nmost trustworthy). Refer to the levels of evidence and explain in this
      \nsection how do you searched and classify the evidence (Use the
      \nliterature matrix). Why are you trusting the results?<\/li>\n
    • Include a review of the literature on your proposed change
      \n(intervention), practice guidelines, or other synthesis reports. Your
      \npaper should serve as a synthesis of what is currently known about your
      \nchange, and what is being investigated. Do not simply summarize each of
      \nyour sources; rather, integrate the information presented, and come up
      \nwith your own interpretation of the data (you may use tables in this
      \nsection to summarize the evidence).<\/li>\n
    • Discuss, appraise and synthesize evidence. A critical review of all
      \nevidence that you will use to support your improvement efforts. Once the
      \n evidence is gathered, you must critically appraise each study to ensure
      \n its credibility and clinical significance. An easy method for
      \nconducting critical appraisal is to answer these three key questions:<\/p>\n

        1. What were the results of the study? (In other words, what is the evidence?)<\/li>\n
        2. How valid are the results? (Can they be trusted?)<\/li>\n
        3. Will the results be helpful in caring for other patients? (Are they transferable?)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        4. Include suggestions for improvement\/change (Aim) to whatever it is
          \nyou are researching. For example, If you are proposing policy changes to
          \n current urinalysis protocols, how will this policy impact the
          \norganization and stakeholders? Patient and\/or population expected to
          \nbenefit directly from improved flow or process. The risk of
          \nparticipation is the same as receiving usual care. If risk or burden is
          \nhigher than with usual care, consider research & IRB.<\/li>\n
        5. State what EBP model will you use to plan for your project. What
          \nplans do you have to measure key indicators, what about tools used to
          \nmeasure the outcomes, what is the validity or reliability if any.
          \nMeasures may include knowledge, attitude, behavior\/practices, and
          \noutcomes What about the sample? You may propose small but large enough
          \nsamples to observe changes. What is the feasible for data collection,
          \nthe minimal time needed, resources, costs? How will you conduct the data
          \n analysis? Who will be involved in the Organization?<\/li>\n
        6. Recommendations for practice change.<\/li>\n
        7. Write the conclusion of your paper, summarizing the main points and
          \nexplaining its main purpose. Restate the topic, purpose, main points,
          \nand the significance of your findings. End this section with the
          \nimplications for practice makes emphasis on the future of your topic.<\/li>\n
        8. Format references and citations using 7th ed. APA guidelines.<\/li>\n
        9. Go back and re-read all directions above and edit, edit, edit.\\<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
