How can one\u2019s own values and beliefs create a negative impact on the delivery of social services with the Latino population?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Consider some of the beliefs Latinos hold true to their traditions such as familismo, machismo, <\/span><\/span><\/span>respeto, language, decision-making, etc., which may interfere in the helping process. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Based on the article readings and book, if not understanding these belief systems of Latino clients and how to use them to help empower, especially Latinas, may prevent successful interventions.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
You must respond to 2 other classmates.  You must reference the book, articles, and video to strengthen your argument, point of view, understanding and application demonstrating the development of becoming a culturally competent social work practitioner working with the Latino population. Please remember to be respectful of each other’s thoughts and ideas. This can be a sensitive topic to many and this will help prepare us as professionals in the community.
