What about things such as diet, exercise, separate confinement, education, moral improvement etc?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: normal; cursor: auto; font-size: unset;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; font-size: unset;\">Be aware that the convict system itself changed between 1853 and 1948 \u2013 you may want to discuss WHY these changes occurred \u2013 think for example about the different approaches of Jebb, Du Cane and Ruggles-Brise.
