Essay is to be four to five pages long. Use at least three different sources. NO WIKIPEDIA. There should be 3-4 footnotes. (IN TEXT CITATIONS) Included should be YOUR opinion as to why this person is important, and how they affect our lives even today.  80% of this paper is biography.  20% is YOUR personal analysis or the person you wrote on.<\/p>\n

Assignment #2: Student is to select ONE of TEN prominent personalities in the period from 1920 to approximately 1990. They are to document why this personality is worthy of study and provide a personal interpretation of that persons’ influence.<\/p>\n

  1. Each personality will have at least six important events in their life for students to research to provide support for the selection.<\/li>\n
  2. Essay must have clear and logical historical progression.<\/li>\n
  3. Standard Written English<\/strong> <\/span>is the form of English most widely accepted as being clear and proper. Publishers, writers, educators, and others have over the years developed a consensus of what standard English consists of. It includes word choice, word order, punctuation, and spelling. Standard English is especially helpful when writing because it maintains a fairly uniform standard of communication which can be understood by all speakers and users of English regardless of differences in dialect, pronunciation, and usage.<\/li>\n
  4. Essay is to be presented in MLA format. (Modern Language Association)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    FOUR to FIVE FULL PAGES will qualify the writer to receive a “C.”  EFFORT above and beyond the minimum assignment is required for one to receive a “B” or higher grade range.<\/p>\n

    BE CREATIVE in your writing.<\/p>\n

    I am not looking for a specific number of pages.  To do better than a C you must do more than the 4-5 pages assigned…with good, firm content.<\/div>\n
    There are more people than presidents on the list.  You are to select the most important events in their life…that provide influence on us today.  That shows you are capable of college level research.  However, do not ignore their early life.  This is a biographical sketch that includes at least 20% of the paper being your personal reaction as to why they are important.<\/div>\n
