\nof both<\/u> illicit drug production<\/u> and eradication<\/u> in Latin
\nAmerica. Be sure mention more than one country example and to answer all parts
\nto the question.<\/span><\/div>\n

Question 2: <\/u><\/b><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Describe
\nthe social and political impacts of the militarization of public security in
\nLatin America. Be sure to talk at least one country case, and the military
\nresponse to both illicit drugs and oil, and answer all parts to the question<\/span><\/div>\n

\nanecdotes<\/span>. The main goal of a final exam is to evaluate mastery of
\ncourse content. <\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Citations<\/span><\/b>: No formal bibliography is
\nrequired, but students should identify authors by last name (DO NOT write out titles<\/span>)
\nwhen they bring in specific ideas, arguments, or concepts. Do NOT cite the course lectures<\/span>.
\nLectures are designed to explain and discuss reading materials, which are the
\nprimary sources of information.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.)  
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Paraphrase<\/span><\/b>:  <\/span>DO NOT rely on any direct quotes<\/span>. Paraphrase using your own
\nwords to show understanding. <\/span><\/p>\n

4.)  
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Answer
\nthe question<\/span><\/b>: Directly
\nrespond the question asked and answer all parts of the question<\/u><\/i>.
\nIncluding extraneous materials in your response will make your essay longer but
\nwill negatively impact the grade. Be on point. Remember that the exam is
\ndesigned to evaluate familiarity with course content. An attentive student can
\nidentify which course materials are relevant, and which are not. If you\u2019ve
\nforgotten, start with the syllabus schedule, which organizes all course
\nmaterials into themes and topics.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

5.)  
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Explain<\/span><\/b>:<\/span> <\/span><\/i>Provide complete, precise, and accurate definitions
\nand explanations for concepts and theories that you cite. It is not enough to
\nmention relevant materials. The goal is to demonstrate understanding<\/i>. <\/span><\/p>\n
