Grant Proposal: a continuation of the previous assigment (Literature Review\/ sources are in the reference page) attached here. <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

The research question could be any related with the topic or what was conclude it in the literature review)<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

You are to design a hypothetical research project and propose it to a funding source. You will be asking for funding (research grant) so you could (hypothetically) conduct (or continue) your research. <\/span><\/font><\/span>You are requesting funding to conduct an ongoing study of
\nclinical outcomes of patients that receive treatment for heart attacks. You are submitting this proposal to Hahn R&D Enterprises.<\/span><\/p>\n

When researchers submit a grant proposal, the process of
\nbeing awarded funds is extremely competitive. Here are three grading elements
\nthat help you sell your idea:<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

1.   
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Accuracy and precision
\n(no false claims)<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

2.   
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Presentation of the
\nargument why your project should be funded over the other grant proposals
\nreceived by Hahn R&D Enterprises for funding (but not fancy or artful
\nfluff, use the template provided). Grantors will not like your proposal if it
\ndoes not use the provided template or specifically directed format.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

3.   
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span>Proposal and Research
\nProtocol Design (local flow of information).<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

So far in this course, you have completed the following
\ntasks:<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Searched for and found full-text
\nPubMed articles concerning one or two specific medical treatment techniques for
\nacute myocardial infarction (MI).<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Created an individual annotated
\nbibliography for one article reporting Fibrinolytic treatment or Percutaneous
\nCoronary Intervention (PCI), or a compare\/contrast of each.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Reported who did what, where
\n(population), when, why, how, as well as the most significant findings in your
\nannotation.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Your group submitted a combined
\nAnnotated Bibliography.  You received lots of feedback, and read the
\nentire graded product, thus becoming familiar with other Fibrinolytic or PCI
\narticles.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>Wrote an individual review of the
\nliterature (Fibrinolytic &\/or\/vs PCI) by critically reading and fully
\nexpanding your annotated bibliography. You reflected on how your article
\nrelates to others on this topic (using other group members’ annotated
\nbibliographies). Your literature review discussed the strength of the evidence,
\ndescribed research findings, strengths and limitations, biases, and how the
\nresearch compares\/contrasts with others. You also discovered connections and
\ngaps in knowledge of the topic, likely thinking, “Why doesn’t someone
\nresearch _______?”<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Now you fill in the _____.  What problem or oversight
\nwould you solve?  What question would you answer?  Discuss how your
\noriginally chosen article and others, lead you to formulate an interest, shaped
\nyour argument, and how you think about the topic of Fibrinolytic therapy and
\nPCI.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

We are all at some level of risk for a MI. There are
\nnumerous risk factors for MI including family history, dietary intake, physical
\nactivity levels, cholesterol and lipid levels, and pre-existing chronic
\ndiseases (i.e. hypertension).  Consider the following questions:<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span> If you were to have an MI and
\ncalled 911 for EMS, which treatment would you prefer? Why?<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>  If you lived in a rural
\narea would your preference change? Why or why not?<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

\u00b7       <\/span><\/span><\/span>  Would you want an EMT to
\nthread a balloon in you at your house or wait for the balloon at a Cardiac
\nSurgical Unit?<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
