to create the “Ideal Insurance Plan”. This isn’t the kind of paper where you simply express how you feel about this plan, but one that has verifiable research on what has failed in the past, and why your proposal would be better.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>T<\/strong><\/span>his is not a politically charged assignment, so please leave out your political narrative.<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/em>This plan you will create is not another program for people that already receive insurance through the government. Your insurance plan must include the cost for a premium, an annual deductible, copay, and any out of pocket cost. <\/span>For example, if you think an ideal insurance plan would include cosmetic surgery, what percentage of the procedure do you think it should cover? Please remember that this plan should be for the average consumer, and a great alternative to the typical plan available to the public. Please consider a sliding scale for premiums, however. This plan is designed for working people making less than $50,000 a year and do not qualify for state coverage. It also can be an alternative to some group policies that offer the least amount of coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

here are the things you <\/span>must include<\/strong><\/em> <\/span>in your final project:<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Have an opening paragraph which includes a <\/span>thesis statement.<\/em> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2) Your project will have a main body, and a vault solid conclusion paragraph reinforcing why your insurance plan is so reasonable.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3) Your project must be solid enough to withstand scrutiny and a line of questioning which allows you to defend your position. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

4) Your work must be devoid of personal statements such as, “I think”, or “I feel”.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

5) Consider a three dimensional approach to the economic feasibility of your plan. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

6) Make mention of who qualifies for your plan, and how it differs from existing models.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

7) Through your research you may want to compare plans that were successful in the past. This should be limited to the US, however.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

8) Mention your selling points to our government and consider whether it would pass; devoid of who is running the senate floor at the time. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

9) Who would run your insurance plan? Is it the government, state, or a private company?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

10) Who would preside over this agency? (Only if it’s a private entity.)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ideal Insurance Plan Final Project Rubric<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

1) <\/span><\/span>Your <\/span><\/span><\/span>final <\/span><\/span><\/span>project addresses the societal considerations such as how it will be funded, by whom, and who will preside over it.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>Must be at least 1,200 words in length.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>   <\/span><\/span>20 points                                                                                                       <\/span><\/span><\/span>                                                               <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
2) <\/span><\/span>Your work is original and does not mimic or ha<\/span><\/span>ve<\/span><\/span> <\/span>thematic similarities with other published work on this subject.                                                                        <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>        <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>15 points<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
3) <\/span><\/span>Your final project is devoid of mechanical errors and is grammatically correct.  (Some latitude will be granted since we are not an English class.)                       <\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span>         <\/span><\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/span>15 points   <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
4) <\/span><\/span>Your final project does not include statements such as, \u201cI think\u201d, or \u201cI feel\u201d. Your work should reflect <\/span><\/span><\/span>your<\/span><\/span> <\/span>research about plans that have failed by contrast.  <\/span><\/span> <\/span>   <\/span><\/span> <\/span>         <\/span><\/span>15 points<\/span><\/span>   <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
5) <\/span><\/span>Your final project will be double spaced and written in either Times Roman, or Calibri text and in a number 12 font.                                                                             <\/span><\/span><\/span>         <\/span><\/span>10 points<\/span><\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
6) <\/span><\/span>Your final project will have <\/span><\/span><\/span>no less than three credible sources<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>and contain the actual site within them.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>(You must have a reference page at the end of your essay.)<\/span><\/span> <\/span>  <\/span><\/span><\/span>10 points<\/span><\/span>                                                                                                    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
7) <\/span><\/span>Your final project will have no less than five to eight sentences per paragraph.
