    Background & Objectives<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Due to the rapid growth of the TechOps department in recent years and the increased workload on managers, Company X has encountered hiccups at different levels, such as when new hires were not given access to necessary applications or were not introduced to the corporate values. This realisation prompted the management to acknowledge their limited understanding of the onboarding process across functional teams and the areas that require improvement. Based on this, I have identified the following objectives for the project: to investigate the perceived challenges and facilitators to successful onboarding from the perspective of our team\u2019s members, and to identify onboarding practices that are likely to contribute favourably to long-term outcomes. Through this research, I aim to provide recommendations for enhancing the current employee onboarding process in our department, with a specific focus on improving retention and engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Primary & Secondary Research<\/em><\/span>
    <\/span><\/p>\n

    Currently, I have completed both the literature review and the methodology section. Primary data has been collected and coded using the in vivo method.<\/p>\n

    The literature review covers several sections\/themes, including an exploration of key dimensions for effective onboarding, onboarding within the IT industry context, and the expectations of Millennials and Generation Z. Through secondary data research, I have discovered links between specific onboarding activities and desired outcomes.

    Problems & Actions<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    Difficulties arose during the data collection phase. Initially, I had planned to employ a mixed-method design, incorporating in-depth interviews for the qualitative part and surveys for the quantitative part. Although I understood that this research method was ambitious given the tight deadlines, my company’s management assured me that they would support me in scheduling interviews with employees during working hours. However, this information was not communicated to the team, resulting in some team members refusing to participate in the project due to their heavy workload and additional time required for interview scheduling.<\/span><\/p>\n

    As a response, I have reworked the project design to focus solely on the qualitative part, using an interpretive qualitative research methodology. This research approach is particularly suitable for delving deeply into participants’ experiences, thereby facilitating an effective exploration of the research questions at hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Work to Be Completed & Summarising Notes<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

    I am currently working on the data analysis section. Once completed, I will summarise the key findings from the primary research in the findings section, interpret the findings based on the results of the secondary analysis, and finally propose recommendations to improve long-term outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Upon completion, I will summarise the key findings derived from the primary research and interpret them in conjunction with the outcomes obtained from the secondary analysis, ultimately providing <\/span>a set of recommendations to improve the onboarding program.<\/span><\/p>\n

    While acknowledging certain inefficiencies encountered in my approach to this research project, I would like to highlight that I have already achieved one of the research goals, specifically aligning onboarding practices with desirable outcomes, and have successfully found a solution during a critical situation, enabling me to adhere to the initial deadlines outlined in the Gantt chart.<\/span><\/p>\n

              Overview of primary and secondary research completed so far<\/span><\/p>\n

                Primary Research<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                The primary research for this project has been completed. It includes a quantitative approach using a survey which will include questions that enable it to collect data (on factors like social influence, financial literacy, and risk perception) from Indonesian millennial workers in 10 major cities such as such as Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Jogja, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar, Medan, Balikpapan, and Manado. In each city, 30 random participants have been selected, leading to a total sample size of 300 participants. The questionnaire is distributed through a Google Form with the help of social media such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. <\/p>\n

                The collected data is then analysed using descriptive statistics to summarise the data and inferential statistics, such as logistic regression analysis, to identify the factors that significantly influence the intention in investing in cryptocurrencies among millennial workers in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

                  Secondary Research<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  The secondary research completed, includes 38 relevant information so far from journals, books, and articles. Some relevant information includes studies by Gupta et al. (2021) and Echchabi et al. (2021). Reliable websites like Detikcom and Jakarta Globe, and exchangers like CoinMarketCap (2023), is used as a credible source of information to obtain information regarding the list and prices of Cryptocurrency. Data regarding the number of investors is obtained from official governmental websites (Bappebti) for valid data.<\/p>\n

                  I am a little bit behind the scheduled timeline due to being hospitalised. The discussions, conclusions, and recommendation should have started this week along with the peer review but I am still interpreting the findings instead. <\/p>\n

                  My priority is to get back to the scheduled timeline. Given the circumstances, I have adjusted my schedule to accommodate the delay caused by my hospitalisation without adding extra time to complete the project. I have created a checklist of the remaining tasks, and breakdown the tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed. <\/p>\n
