Your response should reflect the current evidence based on<\/span> six (6) scientifically credible<\/span> sources published in the last seven (7) years in peer-reviewed journals (2016 – current).<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Your report must be structured with the subheadings indicated below and address the requirements of each section. To assist you with structuring your report we have provided a <\/span><\/span>report template<\/span>.<\/span><\/a> <\/span>There is also an approximate word count allocated to each part which you need to follow:<\/span>

Part 1: Introduction:<\/span> <\/span>write a short introduction (approx. 150 words<\/b>) that explains the purpose, the structure of your report and what you will cover in each section<\/span>

Part 2: Definition and AGHE recommendations:<\/strong> <\/span>provide a definition of what is meant by \u2018meat‘<\/span>. Please think of this definition outside of what is included in the meat & poultry, fish, eggs etc food group. ‘Meat’ can be defined more broadly than just lean meats. <\/b><\/u>The Food Standards Australia New Zealand code<\/a> will help with this. Then discuss the recommendations of the <\/span><\/b>Australian Guide to Healthy Eating<\/a> <\/span><\/b>for the consumption of meats for Australian adults (19+ years), the reasons for creating this specific category and what a serve from this category represents (approx. 400 words)<\/b>. Support your response with at least one relevant credible source.\u21b3<\/p>\n

Part 3: Current situation:<\/strong> <\/span>describe the situation in Australia with regard to the amounts of meat <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Australian Adults typically consume. You must include at least two academic or credible sources such as government reports to support your response (approx. 300 words). <\/b><\/span>

This table is included in the word count (approx. 500 words).<\/b> You are required to include six peer-reviewed journal articles<\/span> (original research articles)<\/b> which you have found through your own research that support or do not support the statement <\/span>‘Meats should be avoided as it is a major contributor to the development of <\/span>health <\/span>problems such as cardiovascular disease and cancer’<\/span><\/em><\/em>. <\/span><\/em>We encourage you to select studies based on the <\/b>NHMRC pyramid of evidence<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then in the text you will <\/span>compare and contrast<\/u> <\/span><\/b>the evidence from the six (6) scientifically credible<\/span> sources published in the last seven (7) years (2016 – current) in peer-reviewed journals to support your claims (approx. 500 words).<\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n
