You are required to submit a 600 word written critique.Observe a professional, classical-style concert. Avoid pop, rock and standard contemporary music performances.Select a concert presented by a college or university music department, a community orchestra\/chorus, or a professional symphony or opera company. Must be double spaced as well as cited with a citation page.<\/p>\n

Concert Critique Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Context.<\/strong> Give the background and general performance information.<\/li>\n
  2. Impressions.<\/strong> The most important part of your review should consist of your individual perspectives on the component parts of the entire performance.<\/li>\n
  3. Likert-Type Scale Rating.<\/strong> Using a Likert-type scale rating from 1 (lowest) to 100 (highest), rank the performance based on the overall quality, personal enjoyment, setting, etc.<\/li>\n
  4. Performance Qualities.<\/strong>\n

    1. Write one paragraph (3-4 sentences) about each piece or movement performed.<\/li>\n
    2. List the title\/composer and write brief historical notes.<\/li>\n
    3. Using the knowledge that you gained in this course, explain the strengths and weaknesses of each performance.\n

      1. Include three musical aspects (melody, rhythm, harmony, form, expression\/dynamics)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      2. Response.<\/strong> How did the audience react to each piece in the performance?<\/li>\n
      3. Programs.<\/strong> To what extend did the printed programs help you with this critique?<\/li>\n
      4. Additional Aspects.<\/strong>\n
