A brief sequence of steps for implementing the<br \/>\nstudy is given, outlining the scope of a study and its&#8217; relevance. A concise<br \/>\nliterature review and the formation of a theoretical framework are outlined to<br \/>\nfurther deepen and develop the trajectory of the thesis. However, after the beginning of Vladimir Putin&#8217;s<br \/>\nthird presidential term in 2012, opportunities for opposition participation<br \/>\nbegan to narrow and become more complicated, both at the legislative level and<br \/>\nat the level of actions to suppress the participation of opposition-minded<br \/>\ncitizens, using repression and political violence. <\/span><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 7.5pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><i style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Problem <\/span><\/i><\/b><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><i style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Statement<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-right: 7.5pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">RQ<\/span><\/b><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">: How state<br \/>\nviolence (repressions) and discourses on non-participation shape Russian<br \/>\nopposition\u2019 perception of political participation and internal split among<br \/>\nitself? <\/span><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">This<br \/>\nthesis strives to produce the following sequence of steps necessary to find an<br \/>\nanswer to the question posed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">The<br \/>\nfirst step <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">is to formulate the relevance of the study and<br \/>\nreview the existing literature \u2013 how Russian opposition tried to function and take<br \/>\nactions during 2000s while Russia was becoming gradually an authoritarian state<br \/>\n\u00ad\u00ad\u2013 how the Russian opposition tried to cooperate with each other. Do not<br \/>\ndevote that much time on that \u2013 please make focus on same issues but in 2010s and<br \/>\n2020, 2021 years. Review both liberal opposition and right-wing opposition<br \/>\n(usually they are perceived as extremists and nationalists\/traditionalists).<br \/>\nReview how Russian state has been gradually imposing state repression and violence<br \/>\ntowards any political resistance and opposition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">You<br \/>\nneed to conceptualize (give a definition to the concept \u2013 how different<br \/>\nscholars view it): Russian opposition, political non-participation, state violence<br \/>\nand repression \u2013 in general and in the Russian political context<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Literature review includes: show how the topic is discussed in academia \u2013<br \/>\napproaches to the given topic (methodological and theorethical), agreements and<br \/>\ndisagreements about the topic between scholars (political scientists)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 12pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><b style=\"cursor: auto; color: inherit;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">Second step: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; cursor: auto; color: inherit;\">elaborate a theory<br \/>\nfor a thesis \u00ad\u2013 how the theory of securitization (Barry Buzan, Ole Waever \u2013 the<br \/>\nfounders of this theory; Therry Balzacq \u00ad\u2013 main contributor to the development<br \/>\nof this theory \u00ad\u2013 please trace how the theory was challenged\/developed) can be<br \/>\napplied to the topic \u00ad\u2013 how Russian opposition tries to securitize state (this is<br \/>\nthe case of internal securitization). In out topic we will look at the opposition<br \/>\nas a securitizing actor, who tries to securitize a Russian state repression and<br \/>\npolitical regime, however, they are not able to do so because they do not have enough<br \/>\ncapacity since a Russian state closes all ways for resistance or persuades citizens<br \/>\nnot to participate in protest action and stay silent at all if they oppose the<br \/>\nexisting regime.
