Pretend
\nyou are the inventor of a special new robot. 
\n<\/span>This robot can survive and learn on its own, even when you are not there
\nto help it.  <\/span>It can answer questions just
\nlike a person.  <\/span>And it even says that it
\nloves you and that it misses you when you are not home.  <\/span>Now imagine that the government passes a law
\noutlawing robots like yours.  <\/span>They claim
\nthat such robots have no minds\u2014they are just machines and they will all be
\ndestroyed!  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

            <\/span>In this paper, pretend that you are
\nthe defense lawyer for your robot and you HAVE to defend it, even if you\u2019re not
\nsure it has a mind.  <\/span>How would you prove
\nto the jury that your robot has a mind and so has the right not to be
\ndestroyed?  <\/span>Briefly describe the
\nimaginary trial scenario presented above and then present TWO separate arguments
\nyou would give to defend your robot.  <\/span>(In
\nyour paper, please label your arguments \u201cargument 1\u201d and \u201cargument 2,\u201d so they
