The topic for this paper is something you have already determined, for it is the same one you used for your annotated bibliography and presentation. The purpose of this assignment is to take the information you’ve found through your research and turn it into a typed, formal essay. In this essay, you will discuss your findings through the research you have developed for this assignment through the annotated bibliography and your final presentation. It will be a way of putting everything you’ve learned together into a written paper. While there isn’t a strict structure you have to use for your paper, it might help to divide it into 3 main points that you found through your research. These can be anything ranging from evidence of a problem, a counterargument, history of your topic, personal data such as a survey or interview, and even more.Introduction: Start your research paper with a strong introduction. This should include both your research question and a solid final thesis. On top of that, you might include some background information as to why you chose your topic. For example, if you’re doing your research project on a social issue, you could start out by introducing how it came to be and how the issue grew into a problem. Either way, it should be a good segway into the information you are about to describe.

Main Point #1: Your first main point should be a principal part of your research. If you conducted any field research, such as a survey, interview, or observation, it might be a good idea to start off with the data you collected from that. Then, you can back it up or debunk it with your outside sources. Either way, make sure your first point is something strong and engaging.

Main Point #2: Your second main point should be another principal part of your research. It can be whatever you feel works best but will most likely deal with outside research, especially if you conducted a survey, interview, or observation. Like the first point, make sure it is both strong and engaging.

Main Point #3: Your third main point should be the last principal part of your research. If your paper contains any sort of counterargument that needs debunking, it will most likely fit in best as the third point. If not, it can be anything you feel concludes the body of your essay in a satisfying manner. Again, it must be strong and engaging.

Conclusion: The conclusion of your research paper is where everything comes full circle. Summarize the research you have done and described and leave any closing words on what you think that could mean for your project as a whole. Make sure it wraps up your paper in a way that is satisfying.

Formatting Guidelines:

• Use an MLA heading and page format

• The paper must be typed; 12-point font; Times New Roman; one-inch margins;and double-spaced

• Don’t use slang or common words (thing, stuff, etc.), unless in a quotation.

• This paper must be written in third person and not first or second

• You are required to have a Works Cited page consisting of full citations for your 5-8sources, as well as in-text citations used whenever appropriate

• Use at least one direct quote of no longer than 3 lines from each source you have

• Your paper needs to range from 5-10 pages• Use sentence variety (simple, compound, complex)

• Use specific, vivid, and detailed incidents and examples.

• Fix all comma splice errors, run-ons, and sentence fragments.

• Run spell check, but remember that it won’t catch the wrong use of words

• Write in all present tense• Make sure all paragraphs are indented a half an inch.Rough Draft Due April 28 and Final Draft Due May 10

Writing Assignment #4: Final Research Paper ENGL 1302 For this assignment, you will be writing your final research paper.
