The guiding question\/ theme\/ topic is self control\/regulation. Specifically, what difference do children without adhd have vs those with adhd in ability to delay gratification\/self regulate? What do we know about this area already? What further research can be done? <\/span><\/p>\n

My hypothesis would be: Do normal methods of self control and delayed gratification work on children with adhd?<\/span><\/p>\n

  For a study I would design, idealy it would be one that repeats the marshmellow experiement as referenced in <\/span>Attention in delay of gratification.pdf but specifically testing those who have been identified to have adhd. Also the possibility for further study on adults if that study goes well. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have attached a summary, the rubric, and some sources I need to be incorperated. Other sources may be used supplimentally\/primarily if they are relevant! Keep in mind, I have adhd, so be sure as you write, to put a bit more sympathy\/curiosity into the wording. <\/p>\n

Y<\/span>ou do not need a cover sheet, an abstract, or any  identifying information (your name, class info<\/span>). Instead begin with the title centered at the top of the page. Make the title interesting, even provocative. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the first paragraph broadly introduce the purpose of the paper or the research question you are exploring. Then tell the audience why this is an important topic to address (current events).  [The answer to this here would be along these lines, reword as neccesary, “This topic is important because more and more adults are being diagnosed with adhd, its incredibly urgent we understand how self control is impaired not just in children but in adults as well”]<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Use the body of the paper to summarize and synthesize three to five peer-reviewed research articles. <\/span>sources<\/span>. But, remember every source of information needs to be cited in the text using A.P.A. Author (year) format, and each in-text citation must have a full and complete reference at the end of the paper again in <\/span>A.P.A. format<\/span>. The research articles and other sources are meant to support explore your research question, so give the audience evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conclude your paper by briefly summarizing what you have learned through this process paying particular attention gaps in the current knowledge or new applications of the ideas already presented. Explicitly state a working hypothesis for the next step in the research process, proposing your own research study.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final paper should be somewhere between five and seven page long and should have a separate page (not part of the minimum) with <\/span>References<\/span> (centered on the page)  should provide a full reference for all cited sources listed alphabetically using A.P.A. formatting. <\/span><\/p>\n
