I chose the civil rights movement specifically the anti-miscegenation laws when they began and what role they played in American history, as well as the couple, who ultimately solidified the 14th amendment, and pretty much overturn dated  <\/span><\/span>laws that were  put in place during slavery to try to maintain some law order between slave master, and slave. But I would like to include more details about other ethnicities and more details about <\/span>Anti-miscegenation laws <\/span><\/span>discouraging interracial marriage between White Americans and non-whites<\/span> <\/span>affecting South Asian immigrants as early as the 17th century. For example, a Eurasian daughter born to an Indian father and Irish mother in Maryland in 1680 was classified as a “mulatto” and sold into slavery<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
