\nEnglish) is a cryptid that originates from the country of Puerto Rico but has since become
\nlargely widespread in various other countries, including the United States. It is most known for
\nattacking and killing various livestock, leaving behind nothing but vampiric puncture wounds on
\neach of its victims. We have decided to conduct a correlational study in order to determine the
\nrelationship, or lack thereof, between an individual’s belief in the existence of the cryptid known
\nas the Chupacabra and their cultural background. In addition, we will also evaluate participants’
\nprevious exposure to the cryptid (through familial anecdotes, the media, and other common
\nsources) and how it relates to both an individual\u2019s cultural background and their belief in the
\nexistence of the Chupacabra. The data for this study will be collected through a custom-curated online survey, hosted through Google Forms, which will be distributed via the use of the
\nInternet to a plethora of different populations within the United States. Participation in this study
\nwill be strictly on a voluntary basis. We hypothesize that, given the geographical origin of the
\ncryptid, belief in the existence of the Chupacabra will have a stronger correlation to participants
\nwho possess a Hispanic or Latinx cultural background. Likewise, we also hypothesize that
\nparticipants with a Hispanic or Latinx background will have experienced a higher volume of
\nprevious exposure to the cryptid, especially in the category of familial anecdotes. <\/span><\/p>\n
