Prompt<\/strong>: In his  <\/span>Being and Nothingness: An Essay in Phenomenological Ontology,<\/em> <\/span>Jean-Paul Sartre introduces the concepts of shame and bad faith. Describe an original scenario that illustrates <\/span>one <\/span><\/strong>of the following terms as Sartre uses them: <\/span><\/div>\n

Your scenario should be written from the first person perspective. <\/strong><\/div>\n

The paper should have the following elements: <\/span><\/div>\n
1. A description of your scenario. (This section should be at least half a page in length) <\/span><\/div>\n
2. A description of how your scenario exemplifies Sartre\u2019s concept of shame or bad faith. Be sure to describe how the world appears in the experience of shame or bad faith and how you appear to yourself in one of those states.  Be sure to discuss the difference between subject and object that is relevant to these concepts. This section should have at least 3 quotations from Being and Nothingness. (this part shold be at least 1 page in length) <\/span><\/div>\n
3. A section that discusses whether these experiences reveal something fundamental about what it means to be human. (this part should be at least 1 page in length) <\/span><\/div>\n
