Social and behavioral sciences attempt to achieve systematic and objective knowledge of internal experience and external behavior through the formulation and testing of applicable theories. Courses in these disciplines advance student learning of the systematic processes of inquiry and analysis. Inquiry is a systematic process of exploring issues, objects or works through the collection and analysis of evidence. Analysis is the process of breaking complex topics or issues into parts.
