    1. Weird News report, with quoting, paraphrasing, and citations as necessary.<\/li>\n
    2. Credibility report. <\/li>\n
    3.  Works Cited page documenting all cited sources. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      First of All, What Is “Weird News”?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
      \n
        \n
      • “Weird News” is news that is unusual in detail or known to only a very small group of people. <\/span><\/li>\n
      • You can choose “Weird Facts” if you’d rather — that is, it doesn’t need to be news<\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • However, it must be factually true and “provable” — that is, credible sources have reason to believe that it is true.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • It is not a topic typically discussed.<\/span>\n
          \n
        • For example, \u201cSocial Media causes depression\u201d or \u201cPeople text and drive too much\u201d are typical topics, not weird. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • I suggest Googling \u201cWeird News\u201d and picking one that you find interesting.<\/span><\/li>\n
        • This will comprise the subject of your presentation. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • At least two articles<\/strong> must be referenced in your Works Cited.<\/span>\n

            • This is for fact-checking.

            • Ideally, you will also quote or paraphrase from them in your presentation.<\/span>\n

              • Your presentation should use selected quotes and lots more paraphrasing or commentary (your own thoughts about what you’re writing about).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
