The terms of the Treaty of Versailles, the economic, political and psychological legacies of World War I, the development of communism and fascism, and the resulting complexities of British and French policy were exploited by Hitler, Mussolini and Japan. In their willingness to do everything to avoid another war, France and Great Britain unwittingly fostered the conditions that would lead to the outbreak of World War II.\u201d  <\/div>\n
