PHYS 3740 Final Term Paper<\/h3>\n

The term paper is due on <\/span>Friday April 28th at 11:59pm PT<\/strong>.  It should be approximately a minimum of 2000 words in length (8-12 pages, depending on font choice \/ size and format).  Late papers will not be accepted.<\/p>\n

The topic of this paper may be of your choosing, so long as it relates somehow to material discussed in class.  Since nuclear weapons have proliferated into every facet of modern society in some way, it might be fun for your to choose a topic that relates to your own field of study. You must have your topic approved by me before continuing<\/em>! Please let me know (email preferable) what you’re planning to write about by Nov 29th.<\/p>\n

Here are a few pointers on sources and general formatting:<\/p>\n

The paper should be in a standard format of your choosing.  I am not picky about why style you adopt, so long as you cite all of your references and give a standard bibliographical summary. This can be in the form of footnotes, endnotes, or a summary reference list cited accordingly throughout the text.  In addition to books, you are welcome to use Websites as a source of information (as long as you don’t just use one site). Be sure it’s a “real” site, though: university, government, and corporate websites are valid sources. Personal websites are not. Wikipedia is somewhat acceptable, but the less information you get from there the better.<\/p>\n

To cite a website, adopt the following format:<\/p>\n

Website name \/ page title, URL (address), author (or maintained by), date accessed<\/strong><\/p>\n

For example:<\/p>\n

National Security website, Nevada Site Office, National Nuclear Safety Administration, http:\/\/www.nv.doe.gov\/nationalsecurity\/default.htm<\/a>, maintained by NNSA, accessed 01 December 2020.<\/p>\n
