Students should feel free to explore other themes, works, or authors. 1) They are expected to demonstrate their knowledge about theoretical and historical debates about classical Korean and East Asian literature. 2) Each paper needs an interesting title, a clearly defined thesis, at least three pieces of textual evidence to support it, a well-developed structure, and a compelling conclusion. 3) Students should prove their skills to analyze literary works by including a close reading of at least three passages selected from the text(s) that it examines.
