By now you have collected data about an organization, you have also analyzed the organization<\/p>\n

through concepts from the course and articulated why that concept is most apt at describing the<\/div>\n
data you collected. The last step will be to design an intervention that is helpful to a member of<\/div>\n
this organization. Interventions are when we bring academic knowledge into the everyday life of<\/div>\n
the organizer which they would find useful.<\/div>\n

The format for the intervention can look many ways. It could be a speech, a podcast, an infographic, a directive, a consulting <\/span>conversation with the  <\/span>organizational members you interacted with.<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
The goal is to create an intervention which works to change an aspect of the organization.<\/span><\/div>\n
You will then present your project the final week of class\u2014this is not for points, but for<\/span><\/div>\n
community. The points will be assessed as follows:<\/span><\/div>\n

Assessment: You will be assessed on this intervention by the members of the organization that<\/span><\/div>\n
you participated with. Because there is no feasible way for me to have the actual members of the<\/span><\/div>\n
organization assess you, you will be building a role-based rubric worth 100 points\u2014and then I<\/span><\/div>\n
will use the rubric to assess your intervention.<\/span><\/div>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n
 Role-Based Rubric (RBR): The purpose of an RBR is to help you understand how you<\/span><\/div>\n
may be assessed in the real-world. This will require you to step into the shoes of the<\/span><\/div>\n
audience you would be using the intervention with. Many students find it most helpful to<\/span><\/div>\n
go back to the organization, and ask, \u201cHow would you go about judging whether my<\/span><\/div>\n
intervention is useful?\u201d You will be assigned to create a rubric that has 3 broad parts.<\/span><\/div>\n

You oversee figuring out how the actual organization would assess you. Then you build<\/span><\/div>\n
an intervention based on that assessment. The three main areas are as follows:<\/span><\/div>\n
   – Useful Purpose\u2014What will the org members find useful? Does this intervention<\/span><\/div>\n
do that?<\/span><\/div>\n
   – Content\u2014What will the org members think about the content you are giving?  <\/span><\/div>\n
   – Delivery\u2014What will the org members expect of how you deliver the<\/span><\/div>\n
intervention?<\/span><\/div>\n
