The last step will be to design an intervention that is helpful to a member of<\/div>\n<div>this organization. Interventions are when we bring academic knowledge into the everyday life of<\/div>\n<div>the organizer which they would find useful.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b><u>The format for the intervention can look many ways.&nbsp;<span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">It could be a speech, a podcast, an infographic, a directive, a consulting <\/span><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">conversation with the &nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">organizational members you interacted with.<\/span><\/u><\/b><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">The goal is to create an intervention which works to change an aspect of the organization.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">You will then present your project the final week of class\u2014this is not for points, but for<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">community. The points will be assessed as follows:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">Assessment: You will be assessed on this intervention by the members of the organization that<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">you participated with. Because there is no feasible way for me to have the actual members of the<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">organization assess you, you will be building a role-based rubric worth 100 points\u2014and then I<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">will use the rubric to assess your intervention.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">&nbsp;Role-Based Rubric (RBR): The purpose of an RBR is to help you understand how you<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">may be assessed in the real-world. This will require you to step into the shoes of the<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">audience you would be using the intervention with. Many students find it most helpful to<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">go back to the organization, and ask, \u201cHow would you go about judging whether my<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">intervention is useful?\u201d You will be assigned to create a rubric that has 3 broad parts.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">You oversee figuring out how the actual organization would assess you. Then you build<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">an intervention based on that assessment. The three main areas are as follows:<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: var(--color-1); font-variant-caps: inherit;\">&nbsp; &nbsp;&#8211; Useful Purpose\u2014What will the org members find useful?
