An annotated bibliography includes all of the citation information needed to<\/div>\n<div>find a source and a paragraph describing the source.<\/div>\n<div>1. Find a minimum of FIVE sources on your topic \u2013 these should be your best<\/div>\n<div>sources so that means you will likely have reviewed at least twice this many<\/div>\n<div>2. For the five sources \u2013 Only 3 can be web sites, the other 2 should be scholarly<\/div>\n<div>peer-reviewed articles from EBSCO or another library database.<\/div>\n<div>3. ONLY use MLA citation formatting and use it consistently in the assignment<\/div>\n<div>4. Look for reliable, valid sources that discuss research and use academic language<\/div>\n<div>5. As you write your annotated paragraph include both a summary of the source<\/div>\n<div>AND an evaluation of the validity of the source and its usefulness. Paragraphs<\/div>\n<div>should be in full sentences 70-200 words long. Length of the entry is often linked<\/div>\n<div>with the length of the source.<\/div>\n<div>a. Introduce the author\u2019s credentials, affiliations, any awards, or<\/div>\n<div>qualifications.<\/div>\n<div>b. Summarize the content of the source \u2013 be descriptive and specific<\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 What is the author\u2019s thesis?<\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 What is the author\u2019s major supporting arguments?<\/div>\n<div>c. Evaluate the accuracy and validity of the source<\/div>\n<div>\uf0b7 Is the source up-to-date?<\/div>\n<div>d. How does it address your specific topic and provide an answer to your<\/div>\n<div>thesis question?<\/div>\n<div>6. The format should list the citation, then the appropriate paragraph annotation<\/div>\n<div>followed by the next citation and annotation.
