 (1) Formatting and Procedures: Papers should follow the formatting and submission instructions outlined below. Points will be deducted for failing to follow these guidelines. <\/span><\/div>\n

\u2022\t3-5 double-spaced pages, with 1-inch margins, using at least 11 point font. Length of paper is not to exceed 5 pages.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tInclude a reference page. The reference page is not a part of your page limit requirements. You must use a minimum of 5 references. All references need to come\n<\/div>\n
from scholarly journal articles, books, websites, or other sources. Citations need to be\n<\/div>\n
used in the paper where appropriate and included in a list at the end of the paper. References and citations should be in APA format (more information on APA format will be provided during the semester).\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tEvaluation of the assignment will be based on applicability and relevancy to public health or health care, critical thinking, clarity, making a convincing argument, and adherence to all guidelines.\n<\/div>\n

(2) Components of the Paper: Your paper should include the components outlined below. The first part of your paper will focus on the elements of the US health care system that you think work well and you would want to keep. The second part of your paper will focus on new elements that you would want in a redesigned health care system.\n<\/div>\n
 Part I: Elements of our Current US Health Care System\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tWhat do you believe works well? Discuss characteristics, frameworks, or current items you would keep from our current US Health Care System.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tSummarize the key elements that you think are ideal from our current system.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tProvide evidence of why these elements work well.\n<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
Part II: New Elements from Your Health Care System\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tPropose a new version of the health care system that you would like to see implemented in our US Health Care System. This is something that must not be currently done in the US Health Care System. BE CREATIVE!\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tAre there things that you would like to change in our current US Health Care system? Address at least one item.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tSummarize your new proposal.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tHow will your new health care system work? Provide evidence. (Remember you are proposing this to the American public. It must be feasible and you must make a convincing argument.)\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tWhat are the pros and cons of your new system?\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tYour proposal must address access, cost, and quality.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tWhat is the significance of your health care system? In other words, why should the public care and support your system?\n<\/div>\n
\u2022\tPropose recommended \u201cnext steps\u201d regarding your health care system.\n<\/div>\n
