Assessment Task<\/p>\n

This assessment requires you to work as a consultant in a small project team to\n<\/div>\n
provide an outline plan for a hypothetical port operating organisation, to enable\n<\/div>\n
the client to develop an Environmental Policy pursuant to the requirements\n<\/div>\n
described in ISO140001. You will present your plan to your \u2018client\u2019, highlighting key\n<\/div>\n
issues, challenges, solutions, and potentials. You should draw on your understanding\n<\/div>\n
of sustainability and the techniques and tools to enable sustainable outcomes.\n<\/div>\n
You are required to deliver a recorded 15-minute presentation outlining a plan\n<\/div>\n
and the rationale to assist your client organization in developing an Environmental\n<\/div>\n
Policy.\n<\/div>\n
Note that for this assessment you are only required to present a top-level plan to\n<\/div>\n
help your client in developing their environmental policy statement. You are not\n<\/div>\n
required to develop any other element of a full management system. You are\n<\/div>\n
however expected to be able to justify your recommendations and proposed plans.\n<\/div>\n
Presentation guidance\n<\/div>\n
Your presentation should highlight the following key elements:\n<\/div>\n
\u2022 A clear rationale identifying the need and benefit for your client organization to\n<\/div>\n
develop an environmental policy.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022 Highlight key activities and challenges for your client organization with regard\n<\/div>\n
to improving their environmental performance.\n<\/div>\n
\u2022 Suggest a framework (with some examples) to enable your client organization to\n<\/div>\n
develop explicit objectives for management, monitoring and improvement.\n<\/div>\n
As a group it is your responsibility to allocate tasks and ensure a fair division of\n<\/div>\n
workload. You may choose to lead specific areas of the assignment, although\n<\/div>\n
there is no requirement for everyone to present and you may choose to nominate a\n<\/div>\n
lead presenter.\n<\/div>\n
The submission is purporting to be a formal presentation from a\n<\/div>\n
professional consultancy so co-operation within your team is essential. Your\n<\/div>\n
presentation should conform to the standards which would be expected of\n<\/div>\n
professional consultants.\n<\/div>\n
