For this assignment, imagine you are preparing to write a research paper about a country of your choice (one not covered in class), a certain aspect of its political situation during a certain time, and the role of music in it.<\/p>\n

These sources must include at least one (physical) book, one journal article, and one ebook, for a total of 5 sources:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
 You must include the links of the UNT catalogue for all these sources.<\/div>\n
One of these sources must be fully accessible online, so that you can read it and address the prompt.<\/div>\n
Choose one country (I am doing Jamaica) that has not been covered in this class in the Unit Music and Politics (not Germany, Portugal, Angola, Zimbabwe, nor the United States).<\/div>\n
Find 5 sources that focus on a political topic from your chosen country and the role music plays in this topic. Be selective of your sources\u2026they must be related. Society and music changes a lot over time and space!<\/div>\n
Follow the format in the example I provide (Including the title and subcategories!)<\/div>\n
Include the word count for the summary <\/div>\n
Compile these 5 sources in a \u201cworks cited\u201d format, using either MLA, APA, or Chicago\/Turabian format (see example below – for reference, I’m using Chicago)<\/div>\n
Out of these 5, select ONE source that you can access and read online and include the exact link: in 100-200 words, explain the role of music within the political situation of the country of your choice, according to the point of view of the author. In other words, make a brief summary in your own words. You can paraphrase, but no quotations. DO NOT PLAGIARIZE.<\/div>\n
Ideas (suggestion): you can focus either on music and dictatorship of that country, or on protest music, or on a different political movement in that country, or how music is used to recruit people to vote, etc.  <\/div>\n
