Understanding rhetoric and rhetorical devices is important in capturing your audience, regardless of age. For this assignment, you will do the following:<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<div>PART I &#8211; Paragraph 1\n<\/div>\n<div>A. Read one of the free children&#8217;s books from the free websites below.\n<\/div>\n<div>https:\/\/www.rd.com\/article\/free-online-books-for-kids\/\n<\/div>\n<div>B. After reading your selected book of choice and the rhetorical appeals lecture in this module, answer the following questions in one paragraph:\n<\/div>\n<div>1. What is the title and author of the book?\n<\/div>\n<div>2. What is the rhetoric of the book? (Message, theme, main idea, etc)\n<\/div>\n<div>3. What age group would you say this book was for? Why?\n<\/div>\n<div>4. Does the book use images?\n<\/div>\n<div>5. Do the images have shapes? What kind?\n<\/div>\n<div>6. Does the book use colors? What kind? Do the colors have a theme? How did this play into understanding the book?\n<\/div>\n<div>7. Do the images have a theme? (Nature, Outer Space, Abstract), etc.\n<\/div>\n<div>8. Does the visual rhetoric complement the narrative rhetoric of the book? Why?\n<\/div>\n<div>9. Do you think the author was successful in getting his or her point across? Why?\n<\/div>\n<div>10. What is the plot?\n<\/div>\n<div>11. What rhetorical appeals do you think you may want to use in your children&#8217;s book (logos, pathos, ethos)? Why?\n<\/div>\n<div>12. What colors, shapes, themes, images do you think will match your rhetoric and why?\n<\/div>\n<div>PART II &#8211; Paragraph II\n<\/div>\n<div>NOW FOR YOUR ORIGINAL BOOK\n<\/div>\n<div>C. Summarize the children&#8217;s book you will be writing in one paragraph. This summary should outline what your story is about.
