  Like all research proposals, your paper will consist of four major sections.  The first major section is the introduction, wherein you will “hook your reader” with a compelling issue, clearly define your proposed research, and explains how or why your research is needed or helpful.  The literature review, the second major section, will situate your research within its broader context using at least ten primary and peer-reviewed citations.  The third section, the method, outlines and justifies an overall research strategy and then explains all the steps from sample design to data analysis you propose taking to accomplish your proposed research. The fourth and last section contains the references used to build your research proposal in APA format.<\/p>\n

Your paper will likely be approximately 8-10 pages, not including the references, and follow this general organization.<\/div>\n
Introduction<\/div>\n
 1\tThe defined research is situated within an essential or compelling broader context.<\/div>\n
 2\tEssential core concepts are introduced and defined.<\/div>\n
 3\tResearch definition: clearly and succinctly defines the proposed research, either in the form of one or more closely related research questions, specification of a model to be evaluated, or hypotheses to be tested.<\/div>\n
Literature Review<\/div>\n
 1\tThe proposal is situated within a sufficient number of relevant (at least ten cited articles pertinent to the topic) and recent (none no more than ten years old) research.<\/div>\n
 2\tThe literature review effectively frames the gap in the literature or exposes the proposed research\u2019s need.<\/div>\n
Method<\/div>\n
 1\tApproach. The proposal clearly and accurately specifies the research approach (i.e., quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method) and justifies why the selected approach is proposed.<\/div>\n
 2\tSample design. The proposal identifies a sampling design, correctly classifies it (i.e., probability or non-probability), and coherently describes an implementation plan. The proposal also specifies the target population the study results could reasonably be generalized and explains at least one opportunity and one threat to broader generalization.<\/div>\n
 3\tParticipant recruitment. The proposal identifies who will be recruited to the study, how potential study participants will learn about the study and gain access to either the researcher or research instrument (e.g., survey), and explain how ethical standards for informed consent (and assent if appropriate) will be achieved.<\/div>\n
 4\tData collection. The proposal clearly explains how data will be collected, including reference to at least two strategies that will be used to enhance the validity and reliability. The proposal also describes how each primary variable in the research definition will be operationalized.<\/div>\n
 5\tData management. The proposal provides a plan for organizing, storing, and arranging the project\u2019s data in a manner consistent with the overall design and research ethics. The plan includes a description of how the data will be compiled and checked and how it will be prepared for analysis.<\/div>\n
 6\tData analysis. The proposal clearly explains how the data will be analyzed to arrive at the outcome required by the research definition.<\/div>\n
